programs

Arthouse provides a variety of innovative programs designed to provide a context in which contemporary art can be experienced in a meaningful way. Special efforts are made to collaborate with other arts and community organizations in order to foster a more active and vibrant cultural climate throughout the state.

  • Arthouse Presents... is a curated series of programs featuring a variety of special art projects, non-traditional exhibitions, screenings, collaborations and talks addressing current issues related to contemporary art and art production. Arthouse Presents... allows Arthouse to double its season programming and take advantage of public spaces in the building which are not suited for more formal, traditional exhibitions.
  • Talking Art + Screenings are public programs designed to complement Arthouse's exhibitions, including slide lectures, gallery talks, panel discussions and films.
  • Arthouse Visiting Lecturer Series brings internationally-renowned contemporary art curators, directors, and arts professionals from around the country to Austin to conduct studio visits with selected area-based artists and present a free public lecture.
  • Youth Education: Arthouse offers a variety of programs for high school students to delve deeper into contemporary art and to develop art and critical thinking skills. Additionally, tours are available free of charge for school groups of all ages.
  • Five x Seven Five x Seven is an art sale and exhibition benefiting Arthouse exhibitions and educational programs. Hundreds of recognized contemporary artists with strong Texas ties create unique works of art on identical 5” x 7” boards.
